The actor is being criticized on social media for a nine-year-old video in which he is seen making derogatory comments against Mayawati. This is a 43-second video of an event organized by a media house in 2012, shared by a person on Twitter.

In this video, Hooda told a joke that is being described as racist and lascivious and he is also seen laughing with the audience.

“The CMS Secretariat found the remarks in the video objectionable and did not reflect the values of the CMS Secretariat or the United Nations,” it said in a statement on the CMS website.

“Hooda is no longer the ambassador of CMS,” the statement said.
