On 1 February, the general budget of the financial year 2021-22 will be presented amidst the ongoing farmer movement in the country. It is reported that the government can make a big announcement in this budget for unhappy farmers. It is being said that the amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi given under PM Kisan Yojana can be increased from Rs 6000 to Rs 10,000. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s statement is also being made the basis of this expectation, in which he said that this time the budget will be different. The government has received feedback that the amount of Rs 6000 annually is not enough for the farmers and there is a demand to increase it. That is, the amount allocated in the budget can be increased once again under the head of PM Kisan Yojana. Earlier this amount was 1.51 lakh crore rupees in the financial year 2019-20 which increased to about 1.54 lakh crore rupees in the next financial year 2020-21.
Focus will be on farmers in Budget 2021
There is a discussion that in Budget 2021, allocation for other farmers related schemes can also be increased. These include Rural Development, PM Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, PM Crop Insurance Scheme. Overall, the government wants to calm the atmosphere created by opposition to agricultural laws. Farmers taking advantage of PM Kisan Yojana say that they get Rs 500 per month for Rs 6000 annually. (This amount is deposited in the accounts of the farmers in three installments of 2000-2000 rupees.) This amount falls short of them, because if a farmer has a bigha land, then he should get about 3 to 3.5 thousand to take paddy crop. It costs Rs. At the same time, it takes about two to two and a half thousand rupees to take wheat crop.
What is PM Kisan Yojana and when did it begin
PM Kisan Yojana scheme was launched on 1 December 2018. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the donor. Under the scheme, the central government sends Rs 6000 annually in the form of 2-2 thousand installments to the farmers’ account. All farmers get this benefit. Money is sent to the account during the period April-July, August-November and December-March. According to the information given on the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi website, there are 11.47 crore beneficiaries of this scheme. All this work is online and done with complete transparency. The beneficiaries can check their name by visiting the website. It can also be ascertained why the rupee did not come to the account after the government deposited or when it will come.
