Chamoli Cloudburst: Chamoli in Uttarakhand once again witnessed the devastation. There was heavy destruction in the Chamoli area due to cloudburst at three places. Cloudburst here at Chinadol Tok, Band Bazar, Ganesh Nagar, situated in the foothills of Binsar Hill in Ghat block, at around 5.30 pm on Tuesday evening.
However, people of the Chamoli District area had moved to safer places before the cloudburst. But a large amount of debris reached the main market through people’s homes. In which three people got trapped. The SDRF and police team reached the spot and rescued them after an hour of rescue.

Shambhu Prasad Pandey, an eyewitness of the incident, said that a loud bang-like sound was heard during the torrential rains, after which everyone moved to safer places and the house was submerged in rubble within a moment. The band market was filled with debris and many vehicles were also buried under the debris.
