RIP Ajit Singh: Another major leader has passed away from the corona infection. The son of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Charan Singh and former Union Minister Chaudhry Ajit Singh passed away on Thursday morning.
Chaudhary Ajit Singh, 82, breathed his last at a private hospital in Gurugram. He had been infected with corona for the past few days. He also contracted pneumonia due to a lung infection. His health had deteriorated over the past two days.

Chaudhary Ajit Singh was a great leader of the Jat community
Chaudhary Ajit Singh was the son of my Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. He was elected to the Lok Sabha 7 times from Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat constituency. He was the Union Aviation Minister. Their dominance was largely in western Uttar Pradesh. He was a great leader of the Jat community.

In the last 2 Lok Sabha and 2 Vidhan Sabha elections, the Rashtriya Lok Dal did not do well. For the same reason, Chaudhary Ajit Singh was defeated in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Balekilla Baghpat, and his son Jayant Chaudhary was defeated from the Mathura Lok Sabha constituency.
