Maharashtra Congress said that it was Mohan S. Independent MP of Union Territory of Dadar and Nagar Haveli. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP )’s role in Delkar’s ‘suicide’ demands investigation. State Congress spokesman Sachin Sawant said, “I will soon talk to Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and demand to investigate the role of BJP in the death of MP Mohanbhai Delkar.”
Police also recovered a suicide note
On Monday afternoon, 58-year-old Mohanbhai Delkar was found hanging from a hanging noose in his hotel room in South Mumbai. The police also recovered an alleged suicide note from the spot.
The Marine Drive Police has filed a report on the accidental death. While the body has been sent for autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death and preliminary investigation of the case has also been started.
Deshmukh termed the incident as ‘very shocking’ and mourned the death of Delkar. The state home minister tweeted last night, saying, “The news of the demise of 7-time MP from Dadar and Nagar Haveli Lok Sabha constituency is very shocking.”
