COVID-19 Update
- India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 41.54 Cr
- Recovery Rate increases to 97.36%
- 42,015 Daily New Cases reported in last 24 hours
- India’s Active Caseload (4,07,170) presently constitutes 1.30% of total cases
- Daily Positivity Rate (2.27%) less than 3% for 30 consecutive days
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 41.54 crores. Cumulatively, 41,54,72,455 vaccine doses have been administered through 51,36,590 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today. 34,25,446 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.These include:

The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination has commenced from 21st June, 2021. The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country.
Out of the people infected since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,03,90,687 people have already recovered from COVID-19 and 36,977 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. This constitutes an overall recovery rate of 97.36%, which is showing a sustained increasing trend.
India has reported 42,015 daily new cases in the last 24 hours.
Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported since twenty-four continuous days. This is a result of sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs.
India’s Active Caseload today stands at 4,07,170 and active cases now constitute 1.30% of the country’s total Positive Cases.
With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 18,52,140 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 44.91 crore (44,91,93,273) tests so far.
While on one side testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 2.09% and the Daily Positivity rate stands at 2.27% today. Daily Positivity rate has remained less than 3% for 30 consecutive days, and has remained below 5% for 44 consecutive days now.

More than 43.25 Crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs
More than 2.88 Crore balance and unutilized doses still available with States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered
As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.

More than 43.25 crore (43,25,17,330) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through all sources and a further 53,38,210 doses are in the pipeline.
Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 40,36,44,231 doses (as per data available at 8 AM today).
More than 2.88 Cr (2,88,73,099) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered.

PM stresses the need to properly plan the vaccination drives at the district level based on the advance availability information

Leaders across parties thank PM for his efforts through the pandemic
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with floor leaders of all parties of both houses of the Parliament yesterday to keep them informed of the trajectory of COVID-19 in India and the Public Health Response to the Pandemic.
PM thanked all leaders for participating in the meeting and giving very practical inputs and suggestions and added that inputs from different parts of the country help immensely in policy design.
PM said that the pandemic should not be a matter of politics & is a matter of concern for entire humanity. He added that mankind hasn’t seen such a pandemic in the last 100 years.PM also spoke about the efforts being made to ensure one oxygen plant in every district across the country.
PM informed leaders about the rising speed of India’s vaccination program and how the first 10 crore doses took around 85 days while the last 10 crore doses have taken 24 days. He also informed the leaders that the daily closing stocks show an average of more than 1.5 crore vaccines at the end of the day throughout the country.
