Rajnath Singh: India-China tensions: Military withdrawal begins, Rajnath Singh claims in Parliament

Indo-China tensions in Rajya Sabha Rajnath Singh said that discussions are going on at different levels between the two sides. We are committed to maintaining a peaceful situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). “India has always insisted on maintaining bilateral relations,” he said.

Attempts were made to infiltrate the LAC from China. Our soldiers sacrificed for the defense of the country. We believe that this dispute can be resolved through discussion. That is why negotiations with China are underway, the defense minister said in Parliament.

Tensions on the border affect relations between the two countries. That is why the soldiers of both the countries need to take a step back. Our government wants to make it clear that we will not give an inch of land to anyone, assured Rajnath Singh.

Both countries have agreed to withdraw troops north and south of Lake Pangong. Rajnath Singh also claimed that the process of withdrawing troops from the border has been going on since yesterday.

Discussions are underway to resolve the remaining issues after the withdrawal from the army. He said the commanders of the two countries would meet within 48 hours of the signing of the agreement.

As per the decision taken by India and China, the pre-April 2020 status quo will be implemented and all the constructions done so far will be removed. In the meantime, the country will always salute the soldiers who lost their lives for the country. “I am convinced that the entire House stands together on the issue of sovereignty of the country,” he said.
