Let us tell you that the Supreme Court rejected Maharashtra’s law to provide reservation to Maratha community in government jobs and admission (SC Strikes Down Reservation for Maratha Community) and declared it unconstitutional. The court refused to send the 1992 Mandal decision to set the reservation limit at 50 percent to more judges’ benches.

No more than 50 percent of reservation

The Supreme Court said that there is no exceptional circumstance under which the reservation to the Maratha community should be given more than the 50 percent reservation limit fixed under the Mandal decision.
