There are many political ups and downs in Puducherry. On one hand, the resignation of four Congress MLAs has come, after which the Narayanasamy-led government is in crisis. This uproar began before Rahul Gandhi’s visit.

At the same time, news of differences between Narayanasamy Sarkar and Kiran Bedi used to come. Recently, Social Welfare Minister Kandhasamy released a video alleging that for the last five years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi have created many hurdles for the Congress-DMK government in Puducherry.

He said that since the election dates are expected to be announced within the next two weeks, Chief Minister Narayanasamy has called a cabinet meeting to decide on dissolving the government and facing the election.

Kiran Bedi was made the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry in May 2016. There was tension between him and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy for a long time. Narayanasamy has been accusing Bedi of ‘acting undemocratically’.

In a conversation with NDTV last month, CM Narayanasamy had said, “The demand to remove Kiran Bedi is not new. In December 2019, we were sitting on a dharna in front of Raj Bhavan to demand his removal.”
