Australia’s Ricky Ponting and South Africa’s Graeme Smith have done the same before. He made it to the special list after scoring 17 runs in the second T20. Ponting holds the record for most runs scored as a captain. He has scored 15,440 runs as captain while Gami Smith has scored 14,878 runs.

Although Virat is currently behind Smith and Ponting, Virat holds the record for the fastest 12,000 runs as a captain. He did so in just 226 innings. For this, Ponting had to play 282 innings and Smith 294 innings.

Another record set by Virat in the second T20I against England is that he crossed the 30,000-run mark in the T20I. He has become the first batsman to cross the 3,000 marks in the International Twenty20.

In the second match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, India won the toss and elected to bowl first. England scored 164 for 6 in 20 overs. Jason Roy scored 46 runs from them. From India, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thackeray took two wickets each while Chahal and Bhubaneswar took one wicket each.

For India, Virat Kohli scored 73 not out and Ishan Kishan 56 off 32 balls. In his first international match, he scored 56 runs with 4 sixes and 5 fours.
