He said, we knew that this is a good ground for batting, so we had decided to stay at the crease for the entire 20 overs. We got off to a good start and later Krunal Pandya and Pollard handled the innings. We were confident of victory with the presence of Hardik Pandya and James Neesham in the team. Man of the match Pollard also showed off the ball with the bat and took two wickets for just 12 runs in two overs.
He said, Our bowlers were throwing fast balls while we were bowling. It was easy to score, so I used slower balls. He told Pollard, he wanted to play all six balls of the last over himself.
He said, I knew bowlers would use wide yorker balls against me, but this time I had prepared for it, which came to my use. “I kept the strike with me even in the last over, because I wanted to play six balls out of six so that we would have more chances to win,” he said. Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni cited poor fielding as the reason for the loss.
“Our fielding was much worse than bowling,” he said. We missed catches on important occasions. The bowlers also failed to work according to plan many times. He bowled many bad balls.
