PBKS vs DC, IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals beat Punjab Kings by 7 wickets

PBKS vs DC: Mayank Agarwal’s unbeaten 99-run innings finally fell in front of Shikhar Dhawan’s unbeaten 69 as Delhi Capitals topped Punjab Kings by 7 wickets with 14 balls to spare in the Indian Premier League (IPL) table on Sunday. Achieved it.

Agarwal held one end from the beginning and faced 58 balls in his innings, hitting 8 fours and 4 sixes. With his mighty innings, Punjab managed to score 76 runs in the final 6 overs and 166 for a total of 6 wickets. Dhawan, however, started Delhi again with Prithvi Shaw (39 runs off 22 balls, 3 fours, 3 sixes). The left-handed batsman kept one end till the end and faced 47 balls in his innings, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. With this, Delhi registered their 6th win by scoring 167 runs for 3 wickets in 17.4 overs.

With this victory, Delhi has reached 12 points in 8 matches and has reached the top, overtaking Chennai Super Kings. Delhi had a challenging target but their opener, especially Shaw, dominated from the beginning. He expressed his intentions by hitting six and 2 fours on Punjab’s main bowler Mohammed Shami.
Chris Jordan also taught Chris Jordan, who landed for the last over of the powerplay, so that Delhi reached 63 runs in the first 6 overs. Harpreet Brar, however, brought a big relief to Punjab by shaking Shaw’s middle stump on a beautiful ball shortly thereafter.

Earlier, Punjab Kings missed Rahul in the top order. Rahul will not be able to lead the team in the next few matches due to appendicitis. Kagiso Rabada (3 wickets for 36 runs) took advantage of this, dismissing Prabhasimran Singh (12 off 16 balls) and then Chris Gayle (13 off 9 balls) to take his place. Punjab was able to score 39 runs for 2 wickets in the powerplay. Rabada’s high-speed ball thrashed Gayle’s middle stump and won the battle between these two maharishis.
Agarwal and Dravid Malan, playing their first matches in the IPL, were kept under control by Delhi spinners Akshar Patel and Lalit Yadav. World No. 1 T20 batsman Malan was able to score only 26 runs in the team in place of Niklas Puran. He hit Ishant Sharma for a six but was bowled in an attempt to play a long shot at Akshar. Agarwal and Malan added 52 runs for the third wicket.

Deepak Hooda (1) was run out in Gaflat, adding to Punjab’s problems. Punjab’s score was 90 for 4 wickets till the 14th over. After this, Agarwal showed his true passion. He hit a six at midwicket on Rabada and then completed his half-century by sending Ishant to the fours.

Ishant scored his first over but Agarwal spoiled his bowling analysis for six in this over. He also hit 2 consecutive fours on Akshar who took 1 wicket for 21 runs in 4 overs. Agarwal needed sixes off the last ball of Avesh Khan’s innings to complete the century but he was able to hit a four. Earlier on 2 balls, he had hit fours and sixes. He is the 6th batsman in the IPL whose innings ended on 99 runs.
