RR vs SRH: IPL 2021: Sunrisers to return to victory with new captain against Royals

RR vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are struggling with poor form, has handed over the command to Kane Williamson, with David Warner removed from the captaincy ahead of the IPL match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday. The Sunrisers suddenly took the decision to remove Australian batsman Warner from the captaincy. The Royals have won 2 of 6 matches so far while the Sunrisers have won 1 of 6 matches. The Royals rank seventh in the points table and eighth at the bottom of the Sunrisers.
The Sanju Samson-led Royals have consistently failed to perform well. He got the first success in the second match and then lost two matches again. After defeating Kolkata Knight Riders, he again suffered a defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians in the last match.

The absence of Joffre Archer and Ben Stokes has had a significant impact on the Royals’ performance. The batting became completely dependent on Samson, who could not walk after scoring 119 in the first match. Opener Jose Butler could not score a single half-century in six matches so far.

In the middle order, David Miller has scored just one half-century in five matches, while Ryan Parag has the highest score of 25 runs. Chris Maurice, who was expensive in bowling, has been able to take 11 wickets in six matches, but failed to win the team on his own.

Rahul Tewatia has got only one wicket in six matches. Senior fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat has taken four and Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman has taken five wickets in six matches. Yuva Chetan Sakaria has taken seven wickets in six matches. Sunrisers, on the other hand, have lost both their previous matches against Delhi Capitals but unfortunately they lost in the Super Over.

Sunrisers batting relies on David Warner, Manish Pandey, Johnny Bairstow and Kane Williamson but all have not been able to run as a unit. Warner scored two half-centuries but did not play a big innings. Bairstow also has the same condition, while Williamson played only three matches and 66 was his highest score.

In bowling, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has managed to take nine wickets in six matches, performing as expected, but could not get support from the other end. India’s senior fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was able to take only three wickets in four matches. He did not play the last two matches due to a thigh muscle strain.
