The first day of the fourth and final Test between IND vs ENG 4th TEST has come to an end. At the end of the day, India has scored 24 runs for the loss of one wicket. England ended the first innings at 205 on the first day. India is still trailing by 181 runs. Jaspreet Bumrah was replaced by Mohammad Siraj in the Indian squad for the Test.

England captain Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first in the fourth Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But the decision did not work out in their favor. Both England openers were dismissed cheaply. Both were dismissed by Akshar Patel. After that, Siraj dismissed captain Root to make it 30 for 3. Ben Stokes and Johnny Bairstow then put on a 48-run stand for the fourth wicket. The pair broke up with Siraj. He dismissed Bairstow for 28 runs. Stokes then added 43 runs with Oli Pope. Stokes completed a half-century and was sent back by Sundar.

England was bowled out for 121. Of the last five batsmen, none were able to score big except Lawrence. He scored 46 runs. England ended the first innings with 205 runs. Akshar Patel was the top wicket-taker for India with 4 wickets. Ashwin took 3 wickets, Siraj 2 wickets, and Sundar 1 wicket.

India’s innings were started by Shubhaman Gill and Rohit Sharma. James Anderson bowled Gill for zero in the third ball of the first over to give India their first blow. After that, Rohit and Cheteshwar Pujar ended the day without losing a wicket.
