The question now being raised about Varun’s selection is why the selection committee headed by Chetan Sharma selected a player who has not played any matches for the state team since October.

Mushtaq Ali was in rehabilitation when the T20 tournament started. He has not played a single match since then in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. How his fitness can be determined based on the match played five months ago. According to sources, Varun’s selection will be a lesson for the selection committee.
