Reliance Jio, The company is now set to launch a cheaper laptop after launching a data plan with one of the most compelling offers in the telecom sector. The company will launch a laptop called JioBook. Geo’s new laptop will be based on Android. It will have a custom screen. The name of this laptop will be JioOS. It can come with Geo apps. The JioBook is expected to have 4G LTE support.
In a report released in 2018, it was said that Jio is working in this sector. Telecom operators in Mumbai have already strengthened their hold in the domestic market with their cheap data and cheap geophones. According to XDA, Reliance Jio has partnered with Chinese company Bluebank Communication Technology to make JioBook. This company was making JioPhone in its factory earlier.
According to XDA Developers, the book has been in the works since last September. It is expected that the laptop will be launched for testing by the first half of 2021. A photo of JioBook’s prototype is being shared. In which one can get a glimpse of this laptop. The leaked photo appears with the laptop’s windows. But, not likely to run on Windows devices. The final design of the JioBook may be different.
According to XDA Developers, the JioBook’s prototype includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset with a display of 1,366×768 pixel resolution and a Snapdragon X12 4G modem. The laptop has been tested in several variants. One model has 2GB LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. There is another model as well. Which includes 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage.
The JioBook can have features like a mini HDMI connector, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Jio laptops can include your native apps like JioStore, JioMeet, and JioPages. In addition, Microsoft products like Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Edge, and Office may also be included. There is no word yet on the price of this laptop.
