Sheriff honors brave Aurelius girl who called 911 for father

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged Alivia’s heroic act on Thursday, honoring her for her quick thinking and bravery during the emergency on November 17.
Alivia’s father, Maison Schroeder, had a seizure at their home, prompting Alivia to call 911. Sheriff Brian Schenck named Alivia a junior deputy and presented her with a certificate for her actions. Denise Spingler, the county 911 administrator, commended Alivia for remaining calm and providing essential information to the dispatcher that helped her father receive timely assistance.
During the recognition ceremony at the county public safety building, Alivia received a red balloon, a Squishmallow stuffed animal, a coloring book, and crayons as tokens of appreciation.
