Captain Batra had given martyrdom at the age of 24 while fighting Pakistan during the Kargil War in 1999.

The Chief of the Pakistani Army, General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi, surrendered to the combined forces of the Indian Army and Bangladesh’s Mukti Bahini along with 93,000 Pakistani soldiers.
