How to Secure an Admission in Top LLB Colleges in India?

Top Colleges for LLB colleges in India offer either 5 years integrated or 3 years LLB Courses. In India, there are a total of 988 colleges that provides LLB courses to aspirants. Of these, 252 are government law colleges, and 723 are private law colleges. 

Some of the top law colleges in India according to the NIRF 2021 ranking are- National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore, National Law University, Delhi (NLUD), Nalsar University of Law, NLU Kolkata, to name a few. 

The colleges offer admission in BA LLB is based on the candidate’s performance in entrance exam. They can appear for MH CET Law, LSAT, CLAT, AP LAW CET and other state and university entrance tests. The mode of application to apply for the entrance exam is online. The registration for CLAT 2022 closed on May 9 however intersted aspirants can appear for other state level entrance exams. CLAT 2022 is scheduled for June 19, 2022.

Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia is ranked 7th position in NIRF 2021. The university offers various law courses at UG, PG, and PhD levels. 

Fees: The average annual fees of the college will come to around 52000 rupees. Admission to the BA LLB course is based on the marks obtained in 10+2 and also on the scores obtained in the JMI BA LLB entrance exam followed by a personal interview. The mode to apply for law courses is online. 

Placement: The college has a dedicated placement cell for placement and law internships. In 2021, around 70% of students got recruited by law firms. The highest salary package offered was around 10 to 12 LPA.

National Law University (NLU), Jodhpur

National Law University (NLU), Jodhpur has been ranked 8th position in India by NIRF 2021 out of 30 Law colleges. The university offers various courses like BBA LLB, BA LLB, LLM, PhD/ LLD. Admission to NLU Jodhpur for the BA LLB is based on marks obtained in CLAT. 

Fees: The average annual fees is around INR 2,59,000 lakhs. 

Placement: NLU Placement and Training cell help candidates in getting a position in financial institutions, senior counsels, national and international law firms, and national regulators. The offers by the international law firms can go up to 30 LPA and the national law firms can go up to 8 LPA to 16 LPA.

KIIT School of Law, Bhubaneswar

KIIT School of Law is a private law school that has been accredited “A” grade by NAAC and 10th position by NIRF 2021. It is the only law college that provides specialization in honours courses. 

Admission Process: Aspirants need to qualify for the KIITEE, the university exam. 

Fees: The average annual fees is around INR 3,09,000 lakhs. 

Placement: Every year, around 85-88% of candidates are placed in the placement. The average salary package offered is 5 LPA, whereas the highest salary package offered is around 12 to 14 LPA.
