Jennifer’s younger sister Felicity Kendall mentions the love story of Jennifer and Shashi Kapoor in her book ‘White Cargo’. When Jennifer went to the opera house with a friend to see a play, S. Kapoor’s eyes fell on Jennifer and Shashi fell in love with Jennifer at first sight, according to Jennifer’s sister in her book. But at that time S. Kapoor did not have much success in the field of acting so it took him a long time to get acquainted with Jennifer.

Shashi Kapoor wrote in her book ‘Prithviwalaj’, ‘I had seen many of Jennifer’s plays. But she was never noticed. A few days later when she met me at the Royal Opera House, she told me that I live in Mumbai and we can meet. The next day, we met and realized that Jennifer was five years older than I was. ‘ Shashi used to travel by train to a station every day to spend time with Jennifer. Even so, he says in his book.
