The counting of votes is being done today after the vote in the Punjab Municipal elections last Sunday. The Shiromani Akali Dal, Bharatiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are face to face in this election. This election is very important for Congress, SAD, BJP and AAP in view of 2022 assembly elections. A total of 9 thousand 222 candidates had participated in this election. With this, election results have also started coming. The influence of the Congress can be seen in the results so far, while it is a setback for the BJP.

According to Jagran, in Sujanpur of Pathankot, Congress won 8, BJP 6 and Azad candidates won 1. The independent candidate Surendra Minhas of Ward No 12 of Sujanpur won.

Nangal: In the Municipal Council election results, Congress won 15, BJP two and Independents two seats.

AAP candidate Gurwinder Kaur has won from ward number one in Jalalabad.

Mamata Valecha of Akali Dal victorious from ward number three, Ladi Dhawan of Akali Dal from ward number 4, Vikasdeep Chaudhary of Congress from ward number 2, Sita Rani of Akali Dal from ward number 5, Natalia Mukhija of Congress from ward 7 And Ramesh Singh of Akali Dal from ward number 6 won.

Moving towards a large majority in the Moga Municipal Corporation election, the Congress suffered the biggest blow, Dr. Rajendra Kaur, wife of Congress MLA Dr. Harjot Kamal, from ward number one, has lost the election. This seat has been won by Harvinder Kaur, wife of Amarjeet Singh of Akali Dal. On the other hand, Gurwinder Singh Bablu of Congress has lost the election from ward number 45. MLA Dr Harjot Kamal’s reputation was on both these seats. The Congress is moving fast towards victory but the MLA also lost by winning.

Hoshiarpur Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur declared the result of ten wards, Congress won from 7, Azad on 2, AAP won on one. Rakesh Sood, wife of BJP candidate Tishik Sood from ward number 5, lost the election. Winner Gurpreet Sachdeva contested as an independent candidate and won by an overwhelming majority. He left the Congress party and contested.

Congress candidate Charanjit Kaur from ward number 1 of Faridkot won.

The election results have started in Moga. 2 Congress candidates won. Congress candidate Jagjit Singh from ward number 29 won with 100 votes. Gurpreech Sachdeva victorious over Warda 4 of Maega. Moga’s Kot Ese Khan Nagar Panchayat Congress snatched away from the Akali Dal. Here 9 Congress candidates have won. The Akali Dal has won only two seats. Elections were held for 13 wards. One seat has been won by AAP and one independent candidate. Earlier, it was in the possession of Panchayat Akali Dal and there were 12 candidates councilors of Akali Dal. Congress candidate Pravin Peena won from Ward 36.

The Congress party also won Moga’s Badhani Kalan Nagar Panchayat. Here 9 Congress candidates have won. Two candidates have won the election of AAP and one candidate SAD. So far, two Nagar Panchayat Congress have won the election results. One of them has snatched from the Akali Dal and the other has returned.

In Ajnala Nagar Panchayat, Avinash Christ of Congress from ward number 6, Geeta Rani of Congress from number 7, Sangeeta Rani of Congress from 8 and Raminder Kaur of SAD from 9.

Jandiala Guru of Amritsar: Ward 1 Congress Dimple, Ward 2 Shiad Harjinder Singh Baman, Ward 3 Congress Baljinder Kaur, Ward 4 Congress Jatinder Singh Nati, Ward 5 Shiad Meenu Sharma. Ward 6 Congress Nirmal Singh Lahorea victorious. Ward 11 Congress Hardev Singh Rinku, and Ward 14 Congress Sanjeev Kumar Lovely emerged victorious. Ward 15 Shiad Roma Sharma won at Jandiala Guru.

Gurdaspur: Congress’s Robin from Ward 14 from Gurdaspur and Sunita of Congress from Ward No. 15 from Gurdaspur declared the winner. Bhavna Bhaskar winner of Congress from ward number 19 from Gurdaspur. Ward one won by Varinder Kaur Chahal, two from Singh Pahda, three from Varinder Kaur, four from Sukhwinder Singh, five from Pritam Kaur. Balraj Singh of Congress won from ward number six. In Gurdaspur, seven seats are won by Congress’s Davinder Kaur and eight by Congress’s Jagbir Singh. Satpal Pappi from ward number ten from Gurdaspur, Sukhraj Kaur Mahal from ward 5, Surjit Singh and Satinder Singh from other wards won. Independent candidate Bhatti Winner from Ward No. 28 of Batala and Rani Winner of Congress from Ward No. 13 from Gurdaspur. Congress candidate Harnek Singh Neki from Batala ward number 26 declared victorious. Chanchaljit Kaur of Congress from ward number one from Batala, Sunita Mahajan of Congress from ward number 17 from Gurdaspur. The victorious Pritam Kaur and Varinder Kaur from Gurdaspur.

Let us tell that on February 14, elections were held on 117 local bodies in the state. 109 of which are municipal councils and nagar panchayats. Whereas, 8 municipal corporations are involved. Officials have informed that a total of 9 thousand 222 candidates contested during this period. Out of which 2 thousand 832 candidates were independents, 2 thousand 37 Congress, 1 thousand 606 Aam Aadmi Party, 1 thousand 569 Shiromani Akali Dal and 1 thousand 3 were from BJP.

The 8 municipal corporations in the electoral fray include Abohar, Bathinda, Batla, Kapurthala, Mohali, Hoshiarpur, Pathankot and Moga. Importantly, the party symbols are not included in the Gram Panchayat elections. Here political parties or local leaders decide the panel. The State Election Commission has appointed 145 returning officers and 145 assistant returning officers to complete the process.
