According to the decision taken by the Uttarakhand government, the Char Dham Yatra has been canceled and only the priests of the temples located in Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri will be allowed to perform rituals and worship. The Char Dham Yatra was scheduled to begin from May next month.

The Chardham Yatra was to begin in May

The famous Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand, called Dev Bhoomi, was to begin from May next month. Under this, the journey of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri located in Uttarakhand is done and lakhs of devotees visit Uttarakhand every year. On the day of Akshaya Tritiya, this journey was, to begin with the opening of the Yamunotri temple doors from May 14. The doors of Gangotri Temple were to open on May 14, the doors of Kedarnath Temple on May 17, and the doors of Badrinath Temple on May 18.

For the Char Dham Yatra, IRCTC had introduced a tour package under which a fare of Rs 43850 per person was fixed from Delhi for the 11 days 12 days tour package. Apart from this, booking of buses was also started but due to Corona epidemic, booking was not being done.
