In the defamation case of MJ Akbar against journalist Priya Ramani, the Delhi Trial Court has acquitted Priya Ramani .

The court also said in its decision that ‘a woman has the right to submit her complaint even after decades’. The court said that it has been seen that a person with social status can also be a sexual harasser.

Let us know that during the #MeToo movement, journalist Priya Ramani had accused former Union Minister and journalist MJ Akbar of sexual harassment. Akbar denied Raman and sued Ramani for criminal defamation.

What is the whole matter?

Journalist Priya Ramani accused Akbar of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement in 2018. Ramani wrote an article for Vogue magazine in 2017, in which he accused the former boss of sexual harassment. Ramani wrote in his article how the person made him feel uncomfortable during the interview.

A year after the Vogue article, during the #MeToo movement in 2018, Ramani revealed that his former boss was MJ Akbar. The incident happened when MJ Akbar was the editor of The Asian Age. PriyaRamani worked in this company from January to October in the year 1994.
