COVID-19 Update

 

  • India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 43.31 Cr
  • Recovery Rate stands at 97.36%
  • 39,742 Daily New Cases reported in last 24 hours
  • India’s Active Caseload (4,08,212) presently constitutes 1.30% of total cases
  • Daily Positivity Rate (2.31%) less than 3% for 34 consecutive days

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 43.31 crores. Cumulatively, 43,31,50,864 vaccine doses have been administered through 52,72,431 sessions, as per the provisional report till 8 am today. 51,18,210 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

Out of the people infected since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,05,43,138 people have already recovered from COVID-19 and 39,972 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. This constitutes an overall recovery rate of 97.36%.

India has reported 39,742 daily new cases in the last 24 hours.

Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported since twenty-eight continuous days. This is a result of sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs.

ndia’s Active Caseload today stands at 4,08,212and active cases now constitute 1.30% of the country’s total Positive Cases.

With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 17,18,756 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 45.62crore (45,62,89,567) tests so far.

While on one side testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 2.34% and the Daily Positivity rate stands at 2.31% today. Daily Positivity rate has remained less than 3% for 34 consecutive days, and has remained below 5% for 48 consecutive days now.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update

 

More than 45.37 Crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs

 

More than 3.29 Crore balance and unutilized doses still available with States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered

 

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.

More than 45.37 crore (45,37,70,580) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through all sources and a further 11,79,010 doses are in the pipeline.

Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 42,08,32,021doses (as per data available at 8 AM today).

More than 3.29 Cr (3,29,38,559) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered.

Prime Minister lauds Chandigarh-based food stall owner in his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address
 

In his monthly radio address to the nation ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today lauded a Chandigarh-based food stall owner for his self-driven initiative in motivating others to get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19. During his address, the Prime Minister said that on suggestion of his daughter and niece, a food stall owner Sanjay Rana started feeding free chole bhature to those who had got the covid vaccine.

Community Radio Stations urged to produce innovative programs on COVID Vaccination and create a Jan Andolan (Public Movement) on COVID Safe Behaviour

Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in partnership with UNICEF hosted a communication awareness workshop for representatives of Community Radio Stations from 16 States. The thematic session highlighted the need to create meaningful awareness campaigns about COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and bust myths surrounding COVID vaccines & vaccination particularly among communities residing in remote and difficult to reach areas in the country.
