The General Assembly of the United Nations, under its resolution 66/281 on 12 July 2012, announced to celebrate 20 March every year as International Day of Happiness, which is called International Day of Happiness in the English language. This resolution was the result of the tireless efforts of Jamie Illian, a social worker, activist, and special adviser to the United Nations. Presenting this resolution to the world, 20 March 2013 was declared as International Happiness Day. It is being celebrated with full gusto for the last eight years. International Day of Happiness is a day to be happy. Although there is no one day to be happy how important are happiness in human life and civilized society. This day reminds me of this. Since 2013, the United Nations has been celebrating this day every year, so that people can spend their lives playing with their hands. The formal initiative to value happiness was initiated by a small country like Bhutan, which has been attaching more importance to the value of national happiness than its national income since the 1970s.
