CITD BAGS PATENT FOR “AUTOMATIC MACHINE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CONICAL SHAPED FIREWORKS (POPULARLY KNOWN AS ANAAR)”

The MSME Tool Room, Hyderabad, [Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD)] has obtained a Patent for the invention entitled “AUTOMATIC MACHINE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CONICAL SHAPED FIREWORKS” for the term of 20 years from the 10th  day of November, 2015.

MSME Tool Room, Hyderabad, (CITD) is a Govt. of India Organisation working under the administrative control of Ministry of MSME. CITD was established in the year 1968 and is a pioneering institution in training technical personnel in the field of Tool Design, CAD/CAM, Low Cost Automation etc. The Institute is conducting  training courses right from Diploma level to Post Graduation.

CITD has been conducting Collaborative Training Programmes viz., M.E.Tool Design and M.E.CAD/CAM courses in collaboration with Osmania University, Hyderabad and M.Tech (Mechatronics) Programme in collaboration with JNTUH, Hyderabadin addition to its own Post Graduate Programme in Tool Design (PGTD) and Post Diploma in Tool Design (PDTD). CITD is also conducting special sponsored Skill Development Courses under ESDP Programme and NSQF compliant Courses. In addition, the Institute is conducting several short and medium term programmes in Tool Design & Manufacture, CAD/CAM, Mechatronics,  VLSI & Embedded Systems & CNC Programming & Machining.

The training programmes conducted at the institute are most sought after courses by the industry and while many of the candidates are selected through campus interviews, others turn to be the Entrepreneurs.

On the manufacturing front, CITD is also Designing & Manufacturing Critical Tools & Tooling elements as well as import substitute Tools/ Components for MSMEs, Public Sector, Defence, Research  & Development Institutions. The Tools Designed, Developed and Manufactured have been used by Organisations like BARC, DRDO Establishments, HAL etc. CITD has been supporting MSME Sector by offering Manufacturing and Metrological Services as Common Facility Centre.

Advisory & Consultancy services in design, development & manufacture of Tools & Automation Projects:

Central Institute of Tool Design signed an MOU with M/s. Standard Fireworks Pvt. Ltd., (SFPL), Sivakasi and finalized orders worth Rs.11.49 crores for machines for Automation processes for various firework projects. M/s Standard Fireworks Pvt. Ltd. initially had placed an order worth of Rs.300 lakhs for filling up of flower pots and packing, chakkar filling and chakkar winding.  As a first project, M/s CITD has taken up for Module-1 (Consists of flower pot chemical filling & Packing). The total project consists of 10 different stations like paper cutting & pasting, chemical filling, washer insertion & Ramming, mud filling & sealing etc.

The Aim of project is to automate the entire above process for relieving human fatigue and to save human from hazardous environment. The entire process is minimal human intervention.  Hence, it is safe for humans to handle the machine in Fireworks Industry.

This is the first of its kind with fully indigenous technology. CITD and M/s. SFPL  had filed a joint Patent  application No.6068/CHE/2015 for innovation “AUTOMATIC MACHINE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CONICAL SHAPED FIREWORKS”.  The uniqueness of machine is that it completely works on pneumatic system for entire process of manufacturing. There is no electrical or electronics system used in process. Therefore, this can avoid most of the fire accidents in field of fireworks industries. The trials had been conducted by customer with original Chemical in flowerpots and attaining the target production cones of 120 pieces per minute.
