When he was young, Ramanujan took up a job as a clerk to meet the financial needs of the household, where he often solved maths problems on blank pages. Professor Hardy recognized the hidden talent in him, after which his fame spread throughout the world. Hardy made arrangements for Ramanujan at Trinity College, Cambridge. One day these pages were noticed by an Englishman who took a personal interest and arranged to send them to Professor Hardy of Oxford University.
Significance, Importance, and More
In 2012, Chief Minister Manmohan Singh decided to celebrate the entire year as the National Year of Mathematics to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Ramanujan. Spread the knowledge to the students and learners across the world. The National Academy of Sciences is the oldest science academy located in Allahabad. This academy organizes workshops in mathematics and applications of Ramanujan to celebrate National Mathematics Day. Manmohan Singh took this decision to honor Ramanujan’s work.
