Wipro's big blow to freshers in the company, 50% less salary cut

On the one hand, where tech and big IT companies are laying off people on a large scale and showing them the way out, on the other hand, Wipro has taken such a step, due to which the company has come into the limelight.

The company has taken a big decision to cut the salary offered to the freshers waiting for joining by 50%.

Some experts keeping an eye on the industry are saying that this decision of  Wipro reflects the challenges like economic uncertainties faced by the companies at the global level.

Bangalore-based IT company Wipro had earlier approached the candidates and offered a package of Rs 6.5 lakh per annum, but now the company is offering a salary of Rs 3.5 lakh per annum instead.

NITES, a union formed for employees working in the IT sector, has condemned this step taken by Wipro.

NITES President Harpreet Singh Saluja says that it is unacceptable that the burden of the company's financial problems should be put on the shoulders of the employees only.
