Learning new-age technology is the need of the hour to flourish in a better way. This concept is very well understood by different education boards of India for their students. One such board is the CISCE which stands for the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. CISCE is a type of Non- Governmental Board of School Education, established in 1958. It conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examination for Class 10th and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) for Class 12th for over 2639 affiliated schools.

All the educational policies prepared under this board are under the aegis of the Cambridge University to tailor to the need of the nation. Recently CISCE teams up with IIT Delhi to introduce courses on Data Science, Robotics, ML & AI. These courses will be introduced for the students from Class 9th to Class 12th as these age groups are the young mind which needs to develop in a certain way that they can compete in the growing world with new technologies full of Data Sciences, Robotics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.

IIT Delhi is named for its developing perspective in the nation. And in the same way, this collaboration will be a step toward such development in the field of education. Under IIT Delhi, I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) is the main body which s building a curriculum for the schools affiliated with the CISCE for new-age technologies such as Data Science, Robotics, Artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). These subjects are specially meant for the 9th and 10th grade students under the ICSE board and 11th and 12th grade under the ISC board, as stated by the Chief Executive & Secretary of CISCE- Gerry Arathoon.

As stated by Ashutosh Dutt Sharma (IHFC Chief Executive Officer), IHFC will not only provide the curriculum for the students of CISCE affiliated schools but will also play a crucial role in executing the curriculum and providing the required guidance for the same. IHFC works in the specialized area of Collaborative Robotics (COBOTICS) which has been set up as the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi by the Department of Science and Technology under the government’s National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS).

How these courses are beneficial for students?

All these courses are the new age courses or understanding that is required by the growing world to flourish in different areas. Each of these courses: Data Science, Robotics, Machine learning, and Artificial Intelligence are among the top desired courses in the world. Therefore it is impertinent to understand the dynamics behind these courses. Let us see how these courses are valuable for the growing students:

Impact of Data Science: Nowadays, every industry needs to grow and earn profit. In the commercial world, data is an important factor to understand the present and future conditions of the market. These data are not just figures but are the indicators which help to predicate and understand the chances of earning profit in a company. This understanding and utilization of data are Data Science which the student will help to understand the data and utilize it in terms of demands and supply conditions of the market.

Impact of Robotics: Robotics is not just defined the hardware understanding of machines and robotics but also provides different opportunities to the students to understand the dynamics of collaboration and cooperation between different parts of robotics. These parts help a crucial role in providing their role to the environment’s condition and with that also defines what is correct and how it is correct. Robotics aims to nurture the crucial mind of young students and with that curiosity aims to develop innovations and discoveries. It can be seen as a branch of STEM courses in which a multidisciplinary approach to understanding is followed.

Impact of Machine Learning (ML): Machine Learning is an excellent way of enhancing the perspective of e-learning for the students. It helps to provide a better understanding of the world and the phenomenon which are occurring abstractly. Not just for students but also for teachers, machine learning is a blessing for tailoring their knowledge to the students.

Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Artificial Intelligence is the new approach to artificially developing human intelligence. It aids the precept of creating artificial objects that can imitate human intelligence for a better reason and cause. It is not a replacement for human intelligence but a better vision of such intelligence. For a student, such understanding is crucial in a way that it will enhance the chances of thinking creatively and working towards it in an early stage of education.

This collaboration between CISCE and IIT Delhi for the students is not just an academic collaboration but a way towards creating minds for future development and future intelligence in the nation. Also, it is not the first time such collaboration is done, last year CBSE collaborated with Intel to launch an Artificial Intelligence Learning Community and Platform called AI Student Community (AISC). And this AISC has already been introduced as a subject named AI for Class 9th and Class 11th in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Therefore we can expect to move towards a better nation by developing new-age technologies.
